Dear clients and friends of Pennant Australia Pty Ltd (Pennant), I am writing to formally announce the withdrawal of Pennant Australia from the market. It is regrettable to have had to make this decision and it was not done so without much torment and consideration. It was made mainly due to the prevailing market forces and the general movement of commercial business to offshore centres such as Singapore. It has been a pleasure to service the markets and the people in their respective positions. I would hope that most of you believe that Pennant has performed in a professional and conscientious manner to the fullest of our abilities. I will be taking up a new position at Orica Chemicals which commences on Monday 2nd August. I will be working with Terry Hosken, whom many will know, in the shipping department. I am sure that this new role will see me remain in contact with many of you in the industry and I hope that our paths will cross again very soon. I take this opportunity to sincerely thank everyone in the industry, both directly and indirectly, for your support during the past six years of operation of Pennant, and prior to that at Seawise and Bridgewater Chartering. It has been a very enjoyable time as a shipbroker and now I turn my attentions to a new area which I am very much looking forward to getting stuck into. I will be continuing my involvement with the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers (ICS) where I am currently a Committee member, and I hope to see many of you at our ICS Shipping Ball on Friday 13th August. I will continue to be contactable on the details below although I will be given a new work mobile and email address at Orica which will be communicated to those who need it in due course.
